Alexis is an interdisciplinary scientist and artist. The search for just, equitable environmental solutions connects all of her interests and skills.
Alexis (she/her) is a 5th-year Environmental Dynamics PhD candidate at University of Arkansas with graduate certificates in Sustainability and Geographic Information Systems (G.I.S.) Her dissertation investigates the ecology and anthropology of sustainable land management using big data, remote sensing, ecological surveys, and social science methods.
She was selected as a Yale Environmental Fellow in 2023, where she partnered with NYC Parks’ Conservation Team to assess green infrastructure and ecological restoration projects across the five boroughs.
Before moving to Northwest Arkansas, Alexis was a Hudson County, NJ native for her entire life. There, she worked as a naturalist at Liberty State Park in Jersey City after graduating in cursu honorum from Saint Peter’s University with a B.S. in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Philosophy. At Saint Peter’s, she served as the president of the social justice club: an opportunity that bestowed her with community organizing skills and a passion for finding solidarity across social-ecological issues.
